For the last 15 years I have worked as a probation officer and have just recently retired.  I sold most of my furniture but still managed to hold on to way too many possessions, which are in storage in Oregon. Now I am spending some time just getting used to the real world outside work, and want to spend some time where it is warm! I love to learn new technology, especially around communication and social networking.  

I have been a fan of Echart Tolle - before Oprah discovered him.  I love podcasts - the lectures are fantastic and free.  Free is my favorite word!  When I was a kid, I rummaged in trash piles and built clubhouses from my findings.  Now I scour the net for free things I like download.com, newsgator and feeddemon in concert, with Itunes, Google Alerts, Hula.com, Cnet.com, the list goes on.  I like repurposing things, and my mind is constantly thinking of how to invent or improve things.  My friend Carol makes it a celebration if I eat something or do something without changing it.  (She is somewhat kidding, I think)

I vacation with friends, and my preference is Mexico, cheap (next favorite word) and warm (another favorite word).  I enjoy knitting, mainly modular (no-brainer projects so that I can multi-task).  I love wine tasting, and the word party perks me right up. I would enjoy finding a good book club and maybe some card clubs that meet periodically.  I enjoy helping others overcome obstacles that interfere with having their dreams come true.  I would like to find a church that spends more time helping others and less in becoming more perfect.  Did that for years, and it is sort of getting repetitive.  Sort of a low-level spiritual indigestion, smile. 

I enjoy the company of senior woman who are outrageous, opinionated, and courageous and wish I could find more of them who enjoy me back to travel with.  I can think on my feet, and like to be surprised.
