Happy Mother's Day Carolyn

My sister Carolyn died right before her 30th birthday. When her daughter, my gorgeous niece Krisstie was married to Kris, the minister Andrea, gave each close friend and relative a lavender rose that was Carolyn's favorite color of rose. After we said a prayer over our roses, Andrea collected them, and put all the petals in a basket. Then she threw the rose petals over Krisstie and Kris telling us all that in spirit Carolyn was with us today. It was a beautiful moment. It helped to ease the sadness we felt that Carolyn was not there in the flesh to see her daughter married. So today Happy Mother's Day Carolyn, to your beautiful spirit that lives on in Krisstie, whom you left with us to share our lives.

Izzy, this really left me choked up. I hope your niece Krisstie looks on Mother's Day as one of remembrance and not of sadness. I'm sure Carolyn was there at her daughter's wedding, and still visits you today.

Thank you Sakura. Krisstie is an amazing woman. She seems to have missed any kind of neurosis you would think a little girl of 9 would have being in a car wreck and seeing her mother die. Instead, she laughs, loves, plays, heals, and is truly a joy to be around. She said she knew her mother was with her even when she was 9. My sister Barbara also loves Krisstie and was a big part of her life even before we lost Carolyn. Barbara has never tried to replace Carolyn as a mother but Barbara has been the most wonderful Aunt a girl could have. I have been blessed knowing both of them. Barbara is in my neighborhood too. She is Healer of Hearts. She works with Katrina victims. Great family, luck me.
