]]>1) Drove 150 miles (1 way) to take the boys to the eye doctor. Actually was a nice drive, they mainly slept, and I enjoyed the signs of fall approaching
2) Agreed to take teenaged boys (sons) to Hooters for lunch...heck it is a family restaurant.
3) Eye doctor appointments went well, some changes nothing major, no signs of their dads corneal problems.
4) Got older son (17) to agree to new glasses at Lenscrafters, they really do make them in an hour.
5) Went to the mall (yes I drove 150 miles to a mall) and had my hair colored...sons don't need to have a mom that looks like granny.
6) Looking fabulous, went to TGI Fridays for dinner, that Jack Daniels stuff is so yummy.
7) Went and chilled in hotel room...so nice to have a bed thats really made, not the covers flopped up.
8) Woke up and 2nd son, wants new glasses too, thank heavens they make them in an hour.
9) Went to a Halloween store, decorations, costumes etc...spent way too much time there but we all laughed a lot.
10) Had lunch at Red Robin, tower of onion rings in honor of Cousin who owned this franchise and died in plane crash. Aren't we sentimental!
11) Took sons and older ones girlfriend to the outlet mall, boy can this girl shop for hours, unlike me who could have parked at Harry and Davids and enjoyed free snacks.
12) Drove home, 150 miles back, listening to my Ipod for a change, as they all slept again.
13) Sunday was spent on the couch...recuperating after all the walking, running and eating we did! Doorbell rang and best friend had made me homemade tamales and sauce!!! OMG...they are wonderous!!

Took the GRE this morning.
Verbal score: 610.
Quantitative score: so incredibly low I must have gotten 4 questions correct out of a total of 80.
Yeah, I know. I'm an English major. No one expects me to be good at math. But it's humiliating to think I couldn't pass high school algebra if I took it again.
(Come to think of it, I did have to take it twice. The first time I got a 'D' and was told by my guidance counselor that I wouldn't be able to get into college with anything less than a 'C.' So I took it again. The second teacher was a cute young guy (well, under 30, anyway) and pretty good at explaining quadratic equations, but doing my algebra homework was like jabbing myself with sharpened pencils over and over again. I was stunned when I got a B -.)
Anyway, with a score like that it's unlikely I'll be able to get into a top-tier PhD program. I'd be lucky if a second-tier program even short-listed my application.
But I don't want to take the test over again. It's $120 a pop, and I doubt if I would do better on a second try. I'm too slow, too ruminative; I linger too long over questions that I should answer in a pop. I might have gotten a higher score on the verbal had I not run out of time and left two questions unfinished.
Oh well. It's probably karma for all the times I've graded kids' tests and caught myself rolling my eyes, thinking, 'OMG, how did you get into high school?' My analytical writing test hasn't been scored yet, but I can imagine some underpaid college instructor reading my test for extra money---gotta pay off those school loans, preferably before one hits retirement age---and muttering, "No topic sentence! Weak supporting paragraph! And where did she get that sentence structure?"
It's Saturday night. I got a date with a pint of Ben & Jerry's and a hot, lavender-scented bath. *sigh*

Seriously. I take pride in reading the labels, folding the clothes, seperating the clothes by colors and multi tasking while laundry is going. Now if you read this and you say well hell, come do my laundry, ya see, I aint your fucking maid! But if you promise I won't have to see doo-doo brown tighty whitey's like my ex husband had that I actually made a song and dance to everytime I came across one, then I might be nice and laundry may get done.

When your a girl and you will be in the presence of someone you adore, the first thing you are thinking about is what the fuck am I going wear and will he want to rip it off. Ok,maybe only when you are me, are you thinking about the ripping off part.
I had it in my head, Friday will be this, Saturday this, Sunday.....
And now it's way past my bedtime and I'm still in the ups on what to wear. I've been eating fucking brown rice and protein all week so I don't feel fat and tonight I had a bacon cheeseburger so it'll assure that I fill my jeans in over the weekend.
